International Student Advisor/Study Abroad Coordinator

Immigration counseling is available for international students through the International Student Advisor. This advisor provides assistance with the interpretation of immigration laws and regulations in relation to EOU policies and procedures, helps students get acquainted with EOU and the La Grande Community, find solutions for academic concerns, financial matters, personal and or social situations. International Student Orientation and other programs are provided by this office. International students are expected to maintain a working relationship with the International Student Advisor and are required to meet with the International Student Advisor the first week of every term.
Academic Advising is provided to all students through assigned faculty advisors within the student's academic discipline. Students are expected to discuss academic concerns with both the International Student Advisor as well as their Academic Advisor.
Have you ever considered spending one or more of your terms as an Eastern student studying in another country? As an Eastern student, you have the opportunity to participate in many study abroad programs such as the Oregon University System - sponsored exchanges, and the Northwest Council for Study Abroad. You may choose programs in China, Japan, Germany, Ecuador, Mexico, France, Thailand and South Korea to name a few. Many programs have no prior language requirement. Your financial aid may apply or be adjusted to meet expenses. Internships abroad are also available to juniors and seniors.
